Wings’ catamarans are certified with The Whitsunday Charter Boat Industry Association (WCBIA). The WCBIA only certifies operators who offer the highest standards, excellent marine and safety practices, and the best customer service.
Wings sailing tours offer night dives for certified divers, weather permitting.
How fast does the boat travel?
Wings’ catamarans are equipped with twin, turbo charged engines, which will take you on a sailing adventure averaging 9 knots. Ensuring that as much as possible is packed into your Wings tour, you will enjoy a fast and exciting trip on these boats.
What if I have never been sailing before?
Wings sailing tours are an exciting and enjoyable experience for all guests, whether they have sailing experience or not. You are welcome to sit back and relax as the crew manages the task of sailing. For those a little more adventurous, the crew will assist you in taking part in the sailing of the catamaran and teach you some sailing skills.
What are the other guests like on the boat?
Wings' guests are made up of both experienced and beginner divers and sailors. However, guests are usually young and adventurous, looking for an exciting, social adventure in the tropical waters of the Whitsunday Islands.
Wings has an excellent menu of fresh food, chef prepared on board before meal time. Allergies and other food requirements will be easily catered for, and everyone will enjoy delicious feasts during their sailing adventure.
Guests will be asked to answer a medical questionnaire, and are then given several briefings on diving locations, diving expectations, how the equipment works, and safety information. Dive instructors will assist you in completing simple skills on the beach before venturing into the water for a real scuba dive experience.
What are the medical requirements for scuba diving?
Scuba diving is offered to all Wings’ guests. However, if you have a pre-existing medical condition, including asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart conditions or thyroid conditions, you may require a medical certificate from a health care professional. Dive medicals are available from the Australian Doctors in Airlie Beach, located in the Main Street (Ph. (07) 4948 0900).
